Approach and Philosophy

The fundamental goal of Temple Beth El is to promote Jewish literacy through observance both in the synagogue and in the home. Jewish literacy is a life long process which requires commitment on the part of each individual. The synagogue nurtures individual observance by creating a supportive community and by providing rich resources for Jewish growth and exploration.

This site is not intended as a substitute for traditional Jewish resources and guides to observance. Rather, our hope is to provide easy on-line access to a wide range of resources for Jews of all ages who seek individually meaningful approaches to observance.

In this section of the website, you will find resources from siddurim and other traditional sources of observance related information. In the future we plan to expand to include media through the creative use of audio and video files. The use of such non-traditional media provides an exciting way to teach observance in a supportive, non-threatening way. Our hope is that anyone who wishes to learn a common observance practice will find the answer here. We welcome suggestions to enhance the scope of this section and thereby make observance even more accessible to our community.
