Bar Mitzvah

Please join Cantor Ruth and David Ross, Samuel, 20, Mierka, 18, and Nathan, 17, in celebrating the Bar Mitzvah of Abraham on May 12-13, 2006. Abraham is a seventh grade student at Lyman Moore Middle School in Portland. Abe's D'var Torah is entitled "Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair." It is about the fairness of rules in the Torah. For his Mitzvah Project, Abe has produced T-shirts with original colored artwork that he has designed. The proceeds from sales of these shirts will go towards research on Batten Disease. Batten Disease slowly affects a child's nerve cells, leading to loss of sight, hearing, and ability to speak. The life span of victims of this disease is 1 to 30 years. Information on Batten Disease, and on purchasing these T-shirts, will be available at his Bar Mitzvah.
