Leadership and
Administration
The lay leadership
of Temple Beth El is composed of men and women who represent a broad
cross section of our community. Although our leaders are diverse in age,
background, and perspective, each is committed to sustaining and
enhancing the spiritual and communal life of our synagogue as well as in
the maintenance of Temple Beth El's sound economic and operational
foundations. Our leadership mirrors the diversity and commitment of the
congregation as a whole.
During much of its
fifty years, Temple Beth El has been blessed with unprecedented stability
and longevity of the professional staff. Rabbi Emeritus Harry Sky and
Cantor Emeritus Kurt Messerschmidt served our
congregation for over thirty years respectively. More recently, Rabbi
Carolyn Braun has served as our Rabbi since 1994. Avis Smith was appointed Education
Director in 1998 after serving many years as a teacher, advisor, and
tutor to our B'nai Mitzvot.
